Ingredients
- 8 raw chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup dates, pitted and chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped dates and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
Add the balsamic vinegar, honey, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and ground black pepper to the saucepan.
Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the glaze thickens.
Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper.
Pour the date glaze over the chicken thighs, making sure they are evenly coated.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is caramelized.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the spicy date glazed chicken thighs with your favorite side dish, such as roasted vegetables or rice.
