Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup white flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a mixing bowl, combine chopped dates, oats, sifted flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add white and brown sugar to the melted butter, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Remove pan from heat, let it cool for a few minutes. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

Gradually add dry ingredients into the pan, stirring with a wooden spoon until well combined.

Stir in cream to make a smooth batter.

Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
