Ingredients
- 4 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, cold, cubed
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with white sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
Transfer the coated apples to a greased baking dish.
In a food processor, combine all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cold cubed butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Evenly spread the crumb mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
While the apple crumble is baking, place 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream in the refrigerator to soften slightly for easier serving.
After the apple crumble is done, allow it to cool slightly on a wire cooling rack for about 10 minutes.
Serve the warm apple crumble with a scoop of softened vanilla ice cream on top.
