Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of table salt, 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder. Mix well to distribute the ingredients evenly.
In a blender, combine 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of cooking oil, 1/2 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of prepared mustard, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and 2 tablespoons of minced fresh garlic. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
Pour the wet mixture from the blender into the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for about 1 minute, just until the dough comes together. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, but be careful not to add too much.
Roll the dough into a rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dough into 12 equal strips.
Twist each strip several times to form a spiral shape, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each twist.
In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of ranch dressing with the remaining prepared mustard to make a glaze.
Brush the top of each bread twist with the ranch and mustard glaze.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread twists are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve the savory mustard garlic bread twists as a tasty snack or appetizer.
