Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 4 bread rolls
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 4 tablespoons condiments
  • 1 eggs

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the lean ground beef with table salt and ground black pepper. Mix well.

Form the beef mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

Preheat the stove to medium-high and add cooking oil to a pan.

Once the pan is hot, add the beef patties. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is reached.

While the beef patties are cooking, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the bread rolls in half and spread the softened butter on the cut sides.

Place the buttered bread rolls on a baking sheet, cut side up, and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until lightly golden.

Remove the bread rolls from the oven and let them cool for a minute.

Build the burger by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bread roll.

Next, add a cooked beef patty on top of the lettuce.

Top the beef patties with sliced tomatoes.

Spread your choice of condiments on the top half of each bread roll.

Finally, top each burger with the top half of the bread rolls, condiment side down.

Serve immediately.
