Ingredients
- 400 grams lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices blue cheese
- 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
- 1 beefsteak tomato, sliced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon quick-rise yeast
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 cup water, warm
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 hamburger buns
Directions
Begin by making the homemade hamburger buns. In a food processor, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of quick-rise yeast, 1 teaspoon of table salt, and 1 tablespoon of white sugar. Pulse a few times to mix.
With the processor running, slowly add 1 cup of warm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil until the dough starts to form a ball. Once mixed, turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape each piece into a round bun. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let them rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Once the buns have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire cooling rack.
While the buns are baking, prepare the beef patties. In a large bowl, combine 400 grams of lean ground beef with 1 teaspoon of steak seasoning, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper, and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
Heat a stove-top grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of blue cheese on top of each patty to melt.
To assemble the burgers, slice the homemade buns in half. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by a beef patty with melted blue cheese. Add a slice of beefsteak tomato on top, then cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve the Blue Cheese Beef Burgers immediately.
